Final Inspection

On 11/18 Five members of the department went to Branden, South Dakota to do final inspection on the 2 engines at Crimson Fire.  Upon arrival the crew meet with their Representative to recieve their inspection list and to be shown the new engines.  During the 3 days the crew made lists of the defects, drove, and pumped the new engines.  The new rigs will hopefully be delivered the second week in december.  Thank you to the employees of Crimson FIre, they were more then accomendating to us.


 
   
   
Recent Engine Update

Everything is coming along great. The pump was installed along with the body after being painted.  The truck is almost completed.  A group will be heading out there in a few weeks to do the final inspection of the rigs. Thanks to Crimson-Fire for the photos.


 
   
   
New Engine Update

The cab and chassis for the new engine arrived at crimson. The body is assembled awaiting the installation.  The new engine will be a 2009 Spartan/Crimson pumper 1250 gpm pump with a 750gal tank. The engine will 942 and is slated to be in around Thanksgiving.  Pictures provided by Crimson-Fire.


 
   
   
Fire Prevention

Crew participated in Oak Valley's Fire Prevention/Open House on Sunday.  Ladder 946 was on display along with other trucks from other towns adn the rest of the battalions from Deptford.  The event took place from 12-4pm. Smoke house, food, pony rides, and raffles were on hand to the many residents that had come out.  More pictures in our Gallery.


 
   
   
NJ Firemens Convention

While most of the Delsea Drive station members stayed to run crews to cover the weekend. The Tanyard Road Station took Utility 947 to the convention to parade.  After their long hours and hard work it finally paid off.  Utility 947 brought home the best appearing in the County and State.   Congradulations to the crew at Tanyard Road! A job well done!


 
   
   
End Of Summer Bash

Deptford Township proudly presented its annual "End of the Summer Blast" on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The evening will feature live music and the event is free and was held at Fasola Park.  The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display. Crew stood by during the fireworks.  


 
   
   
Dumpster Fire

Engine 94 & Engine 92 were dispatched to the Narraticon parkway for rubbish. Further reports from PD place the call to the Hawthorne Woods section of Narraticon for a small dumpster fire. 9201 arrived confirmed PDs report. Engine 943 arrived leading off with a booster line.  Quint 946 arrived in staging then was brought into the scene and lead off with forestry line. Assignment was held to Engine 943 & Quint 946.


 
   
   
South Jersey Gas Alert

South Jersey Gas has embarked on a replacement of defective gas valves throughout their system. They estimate about 70,000 customers. Photos of valves are attached in the pdf file.


 
Wild Weather

A strong storm rolled through the county around 4:30pm causing numerous calls throughout the county. Channel 13 went down during the storm causing communication problems.  The battalion responded to 16 calls and the district responded to approximately 40 calls.  Crews wrapped up around 10:00pm.


 
Pump Training

Crew from the Delsea Drive Station performed more pump operations. Quint 946 and Engine 941 were used in the drill to perform evolutions to better the current and future operators. More Pictures in the gallery.
